Learn from my mistakes - hire before you’re ready
Friday Mar 11, 2022
Friday Mar 11, 2022
This is an episode for those of you who are looking to hire in the near future AND those of you who are often hired by others (service providers, I'm looking at you!)
We all know it's best to hire 'before you're ready' but in this episode, I share how not giving 100% to an investment because I was so busy and overwhelmed trying to juggle everything, meant that I had to pay three times because I didn't have the time and energy to commit to it the first two times.
What I chat about:
My own example of why it's important to hire before you're ready if you want the best results and the best investment financially.
Why it's important not to fully outsource to the point where you aren't involved/aware of what's going on.
How you should be communicating what you'll need from your clients before agreeing to work with them.
Why telling clients what they want to hear can do you (and them) a disservice in the long run.
The importance of taking responsibility for the mistakes you made and holding yourself accountable rather than shifting the blame to the other person involved.

Whether you're already working on your mindset or it feels like something at the bottom of your priority list right now, I really urge you to give this episode a listen as we share our thoughts and personal experiences on our mindset through our business journeys.

How Samantha's chronic health issues led her on a healing journey that culminated in mindset coaching for others.
Why money is pointless without the mindset work.
The self-awareness journey of running a business and why it'll highlight all the things you might be avoiding.
What toxic positivity is and how it might be hindering you.
The law of polarity and why the bad moments in business may well be good moments in the long run.
My own personal struggles with my identity in early 2021.

There is a lot of information out there about following your heart and doing what feels good, so I thought I'd tackle the unsexy bits of pivoting in this episode instead!
Here I discuss the three logical aspects of pivoting that I would recommend you think about before taking the leap, based on my own personal experience of pivoting from virtual assistant to business mentor and also the experiences of my clients.
In short: follow your heart, but bring your head!
What I chat about:
The 3 things you should think about before you decide to leap into a pivot.
How long it might take to pivot from one offer to another.
My personal experience of going from virtual assistant to business mentor.
The financial implications of pivoting.

Sales doesn’t = cash in the bank
Friday Feb 11, 2022
Friday Feb 11, 2022
This is a topic I felt so pulled to talk about today. I saw one of my business friends Felly (@fellydayva) talk about an assumption someone made about her financial situation and it reminded me of all the separate incidents I've experienced myself with something similar.
In this episode, I share some of my own personal stories, as well as experiences of others around me when it comes to sales from the business vs the amount of cash left over to spend.
What I chat about:
Why making assumptions about someone's financial situation can be harmful to everyone involved.
How someone could make 20k a month from their business and still be struggling to survive financially.
Why there is so much more to being "wealthy" or "rich" than having a lot of cash come into your business.
The reason most people will choose not to take huge chunks of cash from their business even when they can.

Growing a VA business: detective turned CEO
Friday Jan 28, 2022
Friday Jan 28, 2022
This episode with my client Lisa from The Minute Maker is so insightful for those of you wondering how people get booked out with VA clients and how they reach that 'next level' with higher ticket offers.
Lisa also talks to us about her experience transitioning from being a detective, giving evidence in court, to running a VA business from her home surrounded by her family.
Warning: this episode is likely to make you want to visit Dorking!
What we chat about:
Why Lisa went from "why would anyone choose to be self-employed" to "I'd never go back to work".
How Lisa found her niche within her local community and why signing clients for her is more about connection.
Sending four figure proposals and the new branch of her business that naturally evolved.
The importance of surrounding yourself with other business owners who build you up.

What happened to my VA business?!
Tuesday Dec 21, 2021
Tuesday Dec 21, 2021
This episode has been such a long time coming.
As you may (or may not) know, I started in this online space back in 2019 with a virtual assistant business called Collectively Done that quickly grew into something amazing and was a huge part of my journey and how I got where I am now.
I haven't spoken much about the VA business this year and recently I've had a few questions about it, so I figured it was time to talk...
